We make AI ads for a living and we still tell some clients to book a shoot. The choice is less about technology than about what the ad has to prove.
Book a shoot when
- The product has to be handled for real: texture, fit or taste on camera.
- A known person must appear in real situations and cannot record a reference.
- The ad will run on broadcast for years and every frame will be studied.
Go hybrid when
- You need a commercial-grade spot in days, not weeks.
- You want several concepts or hooks to test before committing budget.
- The idea needs places or moments that would be expensive or impossible to film.
Go full AI when
- You need volume: UGC-style variants, reels, localisations.
- Speed matters more than deep polish.
Not sure? That is what the first call is for. Fifteen minutes is usually enough to know which way to go.
